Reassessing Networking Groups

A successful networking organization should connect you with referral sources and or potential clients. The programs should be relevant in some way to your business. Networking contacts need to be nurtured over time to develop into solid relationships. However, some organizations look like they will be helpful in making business contacts and end up costing time and money with no return on investment.

If you are finding you are disappointed in your organizational membership look at both the organization and your networking skills. There are many resources available to help you connect with others. Take advantage of sharpening your skills. Then look carefully at the venues you select meet others.

I finding getting involved in the right group is the best way to maximize the experience. You get to meet people and you get to know each other and your talents through working together. Also, being on boards and committees shows leadership.
